One of the services offered by Transcargo BV is the arrangement of transport to and from all European countries. In this newsletter we will discuss our transport activities to and from the United Kingdom.
Every day we organise transport through the channel tunnel or by ferry to the United Kingdom. This could be via Calais (tunnel) or by ferry from Rotterdam to Dover or Immingham. Transport by ferry for semi-trailers can be either escorted or unescorted. This means that the driver may or may not accompany the transport on board. If the driver does not travel on the ferry, then the transport is transferred to a British transport company. We often work with British transport companies for transport to the UK and Ireland.
Transcargo BV not only arranges transport from the Netherlands to the United Kingdom and back but also from the United Kingdom to countries such as Germany, Belgium and Scandinavia. The goods transported are very diverse but we are often asked to transport goods from the automotive industry. Naturally, we also arrange groupage and complete shipments for these destinations.
Increasingly more large cities across Europe have established specific environmental zones; this is also the case for London. Not every transport carrier is permitted to enter these zones. In London, and other large cities, we collaborate with local partners so that we can deliver to the customer’s doorstep at all times.
If you would like to know more about the options to and from the United Kingdom, then please do not hesitate to contact us.
