More and more often you see transport by road 
shifting to transport by rail. Transport going through
the Alpine countries in particular is affected by the
transit limitations of these countries. Rail transport is a good alternative. It is environmentally friendly, heavier loads can be hauled; there are fewer tolls and fewer working hours. Transcargo also arranges this intermodal transport. There is now a line running between the Netherlands and Italy. The first transport took place in mid-June of this year
(2008).
